Short CV/Education and training

  • Dr Marmodoro holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh and the equivalent of a MA (Laurea) in Philosophy from the University of Pisa, Italy.

  • Her first appointment was a Lectureship in the Faculty of Philosophy, at Oxford, and in Corpus Christi College (2007).

  • Following that, Dr Marmodoro was awarded a British Academy Post-doctoral Fellowship in Philosophy, which she held as a Junior Research Fellow in Corpus (2008-2011).

  • In 2008 Dr Marmodoro was also the recipient of a Research Project Grant from the Leverhulme Trust, and Principle investigator of the project.

  • In 2010 she was awarded a European Research Council grant of £1m for a five year project in ancient and contemporary metaphysics, to commence in 2011.

  • In 2011 Dr Marmodoro was elected Official Fellow of Corpus Christi College.

  • Dr Marmodoro has held visiting fellowships in Germany, Italy, Australia and the US.
