Short CV/Education and training

  • Saunders is currently a Lecturer in Volcanology based at the University of Edinburgh since 2013. Prior to this Saunders was a NERC Research Fellow based at the University of Bristol developing new analytical protocols for analysis of volcanic material at sub-micron resolution and timescales of magmatic processes. Saunders commenced her research career by training for a PhD in Geology at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand under the supervision of Dr. Joel Baker and Dr. Richard Wysoczanski. Her PhD focussed on the petrogenesis of silicic arc magmas from in-situ micro-analytical techniques. Saunder’s PhD was funded through a prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship to New Zealand. The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP; http://www.csfp-online.org).
