Selected projects

  • Health consequences of noise exposure from road traffic (QUIET) is a 5 year project funded by a starting grant from the European Research Council and headed by me. The aim is to investigate the relationship between exposure to traffic noise and various endpoint, including diabetes, breast cancer, cancer survival, fertility, birth weight and quality of life.

  • I participate in an EU funded project ?European Study of Cohorts for Air Pollution Effects (ESCAPE?. Within ESCAPE I participate in sub-projects that aim to investigate effects of long-term air pollution and traffic noise on perinatal health outcomes and cardiovascular diseases. Also, I have taken the initiative to establish a Nordic collaboration on health effects of traffic noise consisting of five Nordic research groups.

Additional qualifications

  • Scientific tutor experience: I have participated in supervising of two post docs, one PhD student and four master students.
