  • Eva Martin Del Valle, actually Senior Lecture of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University the Salamanca got her PhD in December 2000. After that she moved to the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, USA where she specialized in microencapsulation processes applied to biotechnological separations. Later, she was contracted by Procter & Gamble in UK where she got up the Department of Process Breakthrough. There, she was the person in charge of the microencapsulation group.

    In December of 2003 she was gotten up to the Department of Chemical Engineering contracted under the Research Program Ramon y Cajal.

    During the summer of 2005, (June -September), she has made an investigation stay in Kenan Institute of the University of North Carolina (USA) in order to specialize in microencapsulation new technologies.

    During the stay in the center Kenan Institute of the University of North Carolina (USA), a collaboration was settled down with the director and University professor of Chemical Engineering Prof. Rubén Carbonell who is expert in encapsulation processes since 1989.

    Based in this experience Dr. Eva M. Del Valle focused her research in microencapsulation processes, specifically in microparticle design and drug delivery control. The studies have been based on the development of new technologies to produced microcapsules based on atomization process and Supercritical Fluids. Characterization of polyelectrolytic complexes as well as on the controlled design of the properties of the membrane based on the use of biocompatible materials has been also studied.
