  • Invited member of the European Leage Against Rheumatism (EULAR) taskforce for guideline development for diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis, 2008 – 2009

  • External examiner for 6 PhD theses on the subject osteoarthritis at Universities in the UK, Denmark, and Australia, 2007 – 2012

  • Member of the scientific committee of IMUKA congress 2009. Integrated care for osteoarthritis (Netherlands-Belgium)

  • Member of the national research group ‘Early osteoarthritis cohort in the Netherlands’ (CHECK) which was granted € 2,270,000 by the Dutch Arthritis Association to start and run a nationwide cohort of early OA patients to study prognosis, prognostic factors and burden of disease

  • Coordinating member and co-initiator of the research network for primary care cohort- and intervention studies in General Practices in Rotterdam (HONEUR)

  • Organising member of the symposium ‘Management of low back pain and sciatica in general practice’ 29 October 1999, Rotterdam

  • Member of KNGF development committee for guidelines of diagnosis and treatment of RSI for Dutch physiotherapists

Additional qualifications

  • Working as a fulltime physical therapist for almost ten years (1983-1992) in Sweden before starting her academic education in Holland in 1992

  • Since graduating, fulltime work as a researcher and building of an own research line (12 years)
