    Studies first in Archeology, Egyptology and Old History (2 Sem.), then in German Literature, English Literature and Medieval Literature at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität of Freiburg and since 1985 at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität of Munich.

    Dissertation thesis at Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich (summa cum laude; Prof. Dr. Gerhard Neumann).

  • 1998
    Habilitation at Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich.

  • 1999 – 2003
    Visiting professorships and guest professorships at the universities of Frankfurt am Main, Konstanz and Vienna / Austria.
