  1. "Knowledge will always have a purpose"

    Lena Ström studies DNA repair mechanisms in yeast and mammalian cells. Her work can be described as “basic" science – research that primarily serves as knowledge generator, and that does not yet have direct medical or technological applications. AcademiaNet spoke with Dr Ström about basic science and her field of research.
