Short CV/Education and training

  • Ilse Storch is Professor of Wildlife Ecology and Wildlife Management in the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Freiburg, Germany. In addition to her academic experience (Diplom degree in biology from LMU Munich in 1986; doctorate in ecology from LMU Munich in 1993; Habilitation (postdoctoral qualification) in ecology and conservation biology from the Technical University of Munich in 2003), she has held positions as a visiting researcher and consultant in numerous countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North and South America. Her research group incorporates approaches from the areas of conservation research, behavioural ecology and landscape ecology in its research on wildlife habitats and the relationships between humans and wildlife at various spatial scales. Ilse Storch is co-chair of the IUCN Galliformes Specialist Group and editor-in-chief of the journal Wildlife Biology.
