Virginia Langum is Professor of English and director of the Faculty of Arts Doctoral College at Umeå University. She is a former Pro Futura Scientia Fellow at the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study at Uppsala University and member of the Young Academy of Sweden. She received her doctorate in 2011 from the University of Cambridge where she was Donaldson Bye-Fellow at Magdalene College. Prior to that, she earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Trinity College, Dublin, a master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University, New York, and a master’s degree in Medieval and Renaissance Literature from the University of Cambridge.
